Port of Ascoli Piceno - New Marina of Port San Giorgio

For the construction of the new Marina of Porto San Giorgio for yachts and fishing boats, located in the province of Ascoli Piceno, a Consortium was set up (Consorzio Lavori Porto S. Giorgio), led by Grandi Lavori Fincosit. The works featured the construction of rubble mound main and lee breakwater formed by with an underlayer of 1st and 2nd grade rocks plus a cover layer of tetrapods and 3rd grade rocks for a total length of 1,467 m, 1,153 of which being a front protection to the embankment that was built with materials from quarries, and with artificial concrete blocks up to a length of 1,450 m. Internal jetties and related fittings were also built, for a total length of 1,460 m, as well as roads and yards.
