State Road 688 Bascule Bridge
Client: Florida Department of Transportation, District 2
Location: Largo / Indian Rocks Beach, Florida
Construction: 1997—2000
This project for the Florida Department of Transportation, District 2, included major widening of SR 688 and the construction of a new parallel bascule bridge across the Intracoastal Waterway in Largo, Florida. Also included in this job were drilled shaft installations, control tower construction, mass concrete, steel erection, electrical and machinery installation. Roadway work consisted of drainage, underground utilities, new pavement construction, widening and sidewalk construction.

- 463,000 LBS of Structural Steel
- 3,400 CY of Substructure & Superstructure Concrete
- 1,304 LF of Type VI AASHTO Girders
- 1,150 LF of 60” and 36” Diameter Drilled Shafts
